International Family Day is celebrated every year on May 15, starting from 1994.
In 1993, the UN General Assembly, reaffirming the commitment to promote social progress and aware that in different social, cultural and political systems, different concepts of family are exist, as well as knowing that the family as a basic unit of society , is an important factor for sustainable development at all levels of society , proclaimed May 15 - International Family Day .
In 2012 in Ukraine was signed 278 thousand marriages and divorce rate reached 61%.
In February 2009, the Secretariat of the United Nations published a report on world demographic trends . It is noted that prior to 2045 the world's population will grow to 9 billion people , despite continued downward trend in fertility in developing countries . Today the world has 6.8 billion people live . According to the forecast , in developed countries, the population will continue to decline . From 2009 to 2050, pp Ukraine's population will shrink by 15 million ( from 46 million).
